Notion Free: a desk overview for your first workspace

Desk overview: This article is based on Notion’s published plan information, reviewed on 2 November 2026. It is not a hands-on performance test or a claim that every paid feature is available for free.

What the Free plan is for

Notion describes its Free plan as an option for individuals organising personal projects and life. Its pricing page lists databases, basic forms and basic sites, alongside a trial of Notion AI. A trial is different from unlimited ongoing access to an AI feature.

What to check for your workflow

Start with one task: organising a personal project, maintaining notes or collecting information in a small database. Compare the current plan allowances with what that task needs. If you plan to collaborate, check the limits on guests, members, file handling and permissions directly on the plan page.

Before choosing a paid upgrade

Write down which limitation you actually need to remove. Compare that requirement with the paid plan’s billing commitment and current price in your currency. An upgrade should answer a specific need rather than simply add features you may not use.

See Notion’s official pricing and feature comparison and our Notion Free profile. Provider terms and inclusions may change.
